Aircraft Captain

Cox Enterprises seeks a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Captain to join its Aviation team. Reporting directly to the Director of Pilot Operations, the Aircraft Captain serves as a visible representative of the company, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft with diplomacy and decorum. The Aircraft Captain holds final authority in the operation of the aircraft when assigned to a flight, including the authority to initiate, delay, or cancel flights, and to deviate from flight plans as necessary due to operating conditions.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $175,300.00 - $292,100.00, and is based on factors such as location, candidate knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may be eligible for an incentive program.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) on assigned flights.
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, local, and foreign regulations, along with company policies and procedures as outlined in the Flight Operations Manual.
• Conduct thorough preflight inspections.
• Maintain compliance with schedules and directives related to the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
• Analyze weather conditions and forecasts for departure, route, destination, and alternate airports.
• Ensure the aircraft is clean, well-prepared, and stocked with provisions to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
• Prepare flight plans, when necessary, in the absence of the Flight Coordinator/Dispatcher.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high level of aeronautical skill and knowledge.
• Supervise the SIC in performing duties necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
• Coordinate the duties of all crew members assigned to the flight.
• Monitor crew performance and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Communicate maintenance issues and required services to technical operations/maintenance personnel.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Fourteen (14) years of experience in aviation or a related field.
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certification.
• First-Class Medical Certification.
• Previous Jet Type Rating.
• Minimum of 1500 Turbine Flight Hours.
• Minimum of 3000 Total Flight Hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of experience in aviation.
