Role and Responsibilities
Summary
Provide C-130 Aircraft Systems/operational procedures instruction in aircraft/ classroom/ simulator and/or practical environments. Assist as Subject Matter Expert in development of curriculum for new type courses as required. May provide additional special services such as courseware review and other additional administrative duties such as publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, scheduling, and other duties as maybe assigned etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Provide C130 Pilot procedures instruction in aircraft, classroom, and simulator or other platform environments. Also provide training for Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT).
+ Provide Crew Resource Management (CRM) training.
+ Assist as Subject Matter Expert in the development of curriculum for new type courses as required.
+ Act as Lesson Subject Matter Expert to review existing lessons and/or changes to existing lessons.
+ Must be physically able to enter simulator, experience simulator motion and take cognizance of attendees’ safety when on board the simulator.
+ Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in simulator and classrooms for up to six hours each day.
+ Aviation instruction is a highly specialized function that requires the instructor to have prior aircraft operating experience and the ability to hold creditability and the attention of the customer attendees.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
+ Must be able to instruct in an academic and simulator environment
+ Must be able to accurately assess and correct student performance
+ Must be able to utilize automated gradebook applications
+ Four to six years’ experience as a C-130 Pilot Instructor
+ Minimum of 200 hours of flight time as a C-130 Pilot
+ C-130 tactical airdrop qualified within the last 5-years
+ Detail oriented
+ PC proficiency with MS Office software
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Available to work weekends on a regular basis
+ Applicant will be subject to a US Government investigation for access to classified information and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance
Language Skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Must be able to clearly express technical concepts and procedures to students
Reasoning Ability
+ Sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate, and where necessary, re-direct student’s activities
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
+ Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in office, classroom, aircraft hangar, and airport environments. This role routinely uses aircraft tools, standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
+ Ability to stand in front of the audience to conduct instruction on cargo build-up platforms/ parking aprons, in load/ fuselage trainers, aircraft, and simulators for up to eight hours each day.
+ Ability to routinely climb / descend stairs.
+ Ability to hear and tolerate simulation, vibration and acoustic environment
+ Ability to climb stairs to enter and exit simulator and aircraft
+ Ability to sit in normal aircraft chair, lift hands above head and reach controls as necessary
+ Ability to do foreign and domestic travel
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule.
+ Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the simulator or ground training device, and its surrounding environment.
