LUH-72A Lakota Simulator Instructor Operator

Leidos is seeking a LUH-72A Lakota Simulator Instructor Operator to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS) program in Marana, AZ. This role involves providing crucial flight and simulation training to Army National Guard aviators, enhancing their readiness for demanding operational environments. The position is within the Airborne Solutions (AirS) Division of the Airborne & Mission Solutions Business Area.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct simulated flight training for AATS students and regional simulation users, emphasizing aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and instrument flight.
  • Develop and maintain mission training scenarios for regional users.
  • Provide instruction and evaluation to student pilots in accordance with approved training support packages.
  • Deliver Aircrew Coordination Training-Enhanced (ACT-E) training.
  • Maintain training records for formal course students and ATP records.
  • Conduct academic platform instruction for various instructor and examiner courses, as well as AATS courses, in accordance with approved Programs of Instruction (POIs).
  • Facilitate pre-mission planning and after-action reviews for all simulation periods.
  • Complete all aircrew training program (ATP) requirements and participate in the no-notice evaluation program.
  • Develop, update, and publish schedules via an electronic database.
  • Conduct the annual simulation scheduling conference.
  • Track schedule changes and prepare monthly reports for flight simulators and hardware maintenance trainers.
  • Coordinate with simulator maintenance contractors regarding maintenance status and service requests.
  • Coordinate with unit course managers to block formal course simulation time.
  • Coordinate with regional users and National Guard Bureau representatives to ensure proper utilization of allocated hours/devices and provide monthly utilization reports.
  • Verify and correct contractor device performance reports and forward them to the COTR.
  • Update flight schedules according to maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain and review a publication library containing historical information and facilities reports for all simulators semi-annually.
  • Operate as an RFMSS Fire Desk Operator for scheduling simulator training periods and closing out training days.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with 8 years of applicable experience or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience.
  • Qualified as an Instructor Pilot in the respective aircraft simulator and an Instrument Flight Examiner, or possess 3 years of documented experience as an Aviation Simulator I/O in the required aircraft device.
  • Prior experience training or operating with Army Aviation or its military equivalent.
  • USAACE / AATS qualified Instructor Pilot in the airframe for which simulation duties will be performed, or a minimum of 3 years of experience as an I/O in the assigned device.
  • Instructor Training Course (ITC) or ABIC qualified, or successfully graduate from an AATS provided ABIC course within 12 months of the contractor employee start date.
  • Meet instructor qualification requirements as defined by the Aviation proponent and in accordance with TR 350-10, TR 350-70.
  • Qualified as a unit trainer, instructor pilot, or maintenance test flight examiner with demonstrated simulator operations experience.
  • USAACE qualified Instrument Flight Examiner.
  • Satisfactorily complete unit aircrew training program within 3 months of starting work if not an instructor pilot, in accordance with AR95-1 and FR350-1.
  • Favorable background investigation or hold a security clearance and access approvals commensurate with the level of information processed or available.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Pay Range: $65,650.00 – $118,675.00
