Reporting to the RPAS Technical Integration Lead during Acquisition, and then to the AMD (E) Site Manager during Sustainment, the RPAS Chief Instructor Maintenance will manage and coordinate all aspects of the RPAS Maintainer training support, including classroom instruction, support to Steady-State RPAS courseware refinement, Maintenance Trainer (MT) and Weapons Load Trainer (WLT) custodianship, and management of all other RPAS Maintenance Instructors on site.

Specific responsibilities include;

Lead and supervise RPAS Maintenance Instructors (RPAS Maintainer and ATIS) that must deliver against the standards and requirements of the RPAS training syllabus.

Ensure that instructors are aligned on all matters related to standards of instruction, teaching methodologies, and handling of, and reporting on, RPAS students.

Ensure that training delivered is consistent with training objectives and teaching points in the approved training plan(s), per applicable training standards.

Reporting student progress, issues and deficiencies relative to the course delivery.

Assist in recruiting, hiring and developing staff to help them achieve their objectives.

Create work schedules, plan and coordinate daily activities and work assignments along with future projects to ensure that an adequate roster is available at all times to cover the contracted Training Availability Windows.

Provide Training SME feedback and input into CAE’s Training Device development.

Act as primary RPAS Maintainer SME whilst supporting Training-related IPTs and Working Groups.

Prepare performance reviews for Direct Reports (RPAS Maintainer and ATIS Instructors).

Travel and work shifts/overtime when needed.

Our ideal candidate has:

+ 5 to 8 years of relevant experience

+ Qualified Maintenance Instructor or Canadian Armed Forces Instructor Course, or equivalent.

+ Eligible for Canadian Controlled Goods Clearance and NATO Secret clearance.

+ Formal training in Instructional Techniques and or Instructor Supervisor training.

+ In depth knowledge of CF Maintenance Activity Authorizations and Standards C-05-005P03/AM-001.

+ Familiar with quality standards, training plans, and training media used to ensure teaching points are met per Training Standards.

+ Ability to foster respect and the exchange of ideas and knowledge through effective communication.

+ Ability to contribute to development of teaching aids and courseware.

+ Previous experience in Training/Operations/Maintenance of aircraft platforms.
