Responsibilities
The Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and performing essential administrative functions:
- Provide simulator, flight, or classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for issuing licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conduct thorough and professional pre and post-training briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
- Complete required administrative duties, including maintaining accurate training records, recommending remedial training when necessary, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the creation of curricula and courseware as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for the Instructor Pilot position must meet the following criteria:
- Hold or meet the qualifications to receive an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Possess a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Type Rating.
- Demonstrate a passion for teaching, supported by strong communication skills.
- Possess basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
- Agree to participate in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience flying business aircraft is considered a strong asset.
Physical Requirements
This role involves certain physical demands, including:
- Dexterity for tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours with limited breaks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours) with limited breaks.
- Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as required.
