Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking a dedicated Instructor Pilot to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in cultivating pilot confidence and technical mastery. This position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality flight and ground training while contributing to our global legacy of training excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive flight simulator and ground school instruction, supporting type ratings, certificates, internal training, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conduct professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in alignment with established CAE standards.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding clients through tailored training programs.
  • Maintain accurate training records, track instructional qualifications, and recommend remedial training as necessary.
  • Support the development and refinement of curricula and courseware.
  • Work toward qualifying as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman (typically within 1.5+ years, subject to business needs).
  • Maintain a welcoming learning environment and communicate effectively across a diverse customer base.
  • Ensure all documentation remains compliant with both CAE and FAA requirements.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to perform the following: frequent climbing of ladders, stairs, ramps, or scaffolding; occasional work in confined spaces; prolonged periods of standing or sitting; occasional movement to complete tasks; and the ability to lift or adjust objects up to 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted ATP certificate and at least one unrestricted PIC Type Rating (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Strong passion for education with effective communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Participation in the CAE DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States.
  • Ability to meet all physical requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience flying single-pilot and/or business aircraft.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tailored instruction to diverse learners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality training delivery.
  • Previous experience in the development of training curricula or courseware.
