Instructor Pilot

CAE x SIMCOM is seeking a qualified Instructor Pilot to deliver ground school and simulator training during Initial, Recurrent, or specialty courses. This role adheres to CAE x SIMCOM training standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements. The Instructor Pilot assists customers in developing the skills and confidence necessary to perform safely and effectively through tailored instruction, lesson planning, training session setup, and maintenance of publications and learning materials. Occasional travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver standardized training in the classroom and/or simulator for: Captain Upgrades, Initial/Recurrent Training, PIC/SIC Evaluations, Differences Training, and Remedial Training.
  • Enforce company standards and promote safe operating practices.
  • Provide clear, effective instruction supported by strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Accurately and impartially evaluate pilot performance.
  • Conduct simulator and ground training for customers at SIMCOM.
  • Maintain accurate training records and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate customer progress to ensure alignment with SIMCOM training standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and training center management.
  • If authorized as a TCE, conduct Proficiency Checks and Certification Checks under FAR 135/142.
  • Participate in training meetings and conferences to address customer requirements.
  • Maintain qualifications, certifications, and instructional proficiency.
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Perform related duties and assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or state-issued equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3,000 total flight hours.
  • Hold an unrestricted ATP certificate and one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • A passion for teaching supported by strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs).
  • Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Must be authorized to live/work in the United States.
  • Excellent fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or college degree preferred.
  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Experience flying business aircraft is a plus.
  • Existing instructor qualification or type rating preferred.
  • Experience on the Phenom 300, with an EMB‑505 type rating.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Occasionally move into various positions, including confined spaces.
  • Remain in stationary positions for prolonged periods (standing or sitting).
  • Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.
