Simulator Flight Instructor I
CAE invites applications for a Simulator Flight Instructor I position. This on-call, fixed-term role demands a highly skilled and adaptable individual to deliver comprehensive flight simulation training, primarily within a flight simulator or other designated training device, with occasional ground school instruction as needed. The successful candidate will adhere strictly to all relevant regulatory requirements and client-specific procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings, adhering to established CAE standards.
- Execute all simulator sessions in accordance with CAE, aircraft manufacturer, and client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver flight instruction for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, and certificates.
- Maintain meticulous and comprehensive client training records to ensure clarity and seamless transition between instructors.
- Identify and recommend remedial training for trainees not meeting expected progress benchmarks.
- Accurately record simulator usage and any discrepancies, following established procedures.
- Proactively monitor and maintain the validity of instructor qualifications to ensure ongoing compliance with contractual obligations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to curriculum and courseware development as required.
- Participate in examiner training programs, as directed by the Head of Training.
- Act as an invigilator during examinations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Successful completion of all Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) written examinations.
- Minimum experience required by the relevant regulatory authority for instructor rating.
- Current instructor qualification or rating issued by a recognized regulatory authority (preferred).
- Fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience requirements for simulator instructor certification.
- Current or previous possession of a professional pilot's license.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable aviation regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a strong customer focus even under pressure.
- Commitment to quality and continuous improvement of processes and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to concentrate and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and a willingness to readily embrace change.
- Fluency in English and French.
