Job Summary
The Instructor Pilot at CAE fulfills a pivotal role that extends beyond conventional training, focusing on instilling confidence and mastery in every pilot under instruction. This position involves leading comprehensive simulator sessions and pre-flight briefings, inspiring trust and proficiency for critical moments in aviation. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive flight training within advanced flight simulators and conduct engaging ground school instruction, strictly adhering to appropriate regulatory agency guidelines, CAE-approved curriculum, and specific customer requirements.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), proficiently guiding clients through all phases of their aviation training programs.
- Provide detailed simulator or classroom instruction across assigned aircraft types for the purpose of issuing licenses, type ratings, internal training, certifications, and pilot qualifications.
- Conduct professional and thorough pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in full accordance with CAE's established operational standards.
- Execute essential administrative duties, including accurate completion of training records, recommending targeted remedial training when necessary, and diligently tracking individual instructional qualifications and activity.
- Contribute actively as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development and refinement of curricula and courseware as required.
- Based on business needs and after approximately 1.5 years of dedicated service, designated Instructors will have the opportunity to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and a customer contract check airman.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold or meet all qualifications necessary to receive an Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Possess a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Type Rating.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching others, complemented by strong and effective communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other internet-based programs.
- Willingness to participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
- Experience flying business aircraft is considered a significant advantage.
