This premier aviation training organization is actively seeking experienced aviation professionals to transition into the role of Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) and Subject Matter Expert (SME). Key Responsibilities of the Synthetic Flight Instructor
The Synthetic Flight Instructor will be responsible for delivering expert instruction within a state-of-the-art synthetic training environment. The role requires a strong focus on professional development, client partnership, and adherence to stringent regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality synthetic flight instruction and associated classroom-based theoretical knowledge instruction to professional clients.
- Mentoring and guiding industry colleagues and client partners through rigorous training syllabi.
- Maintaining accurate, concise, and timely trainee records in strict adherence to company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Operating cutting-edge synthetic training equipment that incorporates the very latest aircraft technologies.
- Tailoring training sessions effectively to meet the needs of a diverse and international customer base.
Qualifications and Experience Required
The ideal candidate possesses a strong professional aviation background and must meet the following essential criteria:
- Possession of a current or previously held UK, EASA, or ICAO equivalent pilot license.
- A minimum of 1,500 total hours of multi-pilot operational experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail regarding training delivery and meticulous record-keeping ability.
- Demonstrated interest in mentoring and developing industry colleagues.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English, suitable for complex instructional delivery and conversation.
- Basic competency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and other internet-based programs.

- Commitment to a fixed roster pattern with guaranteed days off and entitlement to up to 30+ vacation days per year (including UK bank holidays).
- The instructor must reside within a commutable distance of the primary location (ideally within a 1-hour drive or 30 miles), or be willing to make appropriate local accommodation arrangements.
- The legal right to live and work in the UK is highly desirable for this position.
Location Details
This is a full-time, site-based position located at the dedicated Burgess Hill Training Centre. The instructor must commit to a schedule requiring 5 days per week onsite.
Please note: A mandatory training bond applies to this position. The level of the bond is determined by the applicant's prior professional experience and existing aircraft ratings.
