Position Overview
C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is an industry leader in supply chain solutions, committed to nourishing communities through its network. As a C&S Global Vision Captain, this role is integral to the company's operations, ensuring safe and efficient air transportation. The Captain is responsible for the successful conduct of assigned flights, supporting critical business needs with professionalism and precision. This position requires flexibility to accommodate an on-call schedule and domestic and international overnight travel.
Job Details
- Location: Keene, NH
- Schedule: Full-Time, requiring on-call availability and flexible hours dictated by flight schedules. Anticipate approximately four overnight trips per month, with the Captain typically returning home most nights.
- Travel & Flight Time: Primarily domestic travel with an estimated six international trips annually. Annual flight time is projected between 300 and 400 hours.
- Relocation: Candidates must reside locally within a one-hour radius of Keene, NH, or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
The Global Vision Captain exercises paramount authority and responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining exclusive and final authority regarding the initiation, continuation, diversion, or termination of any flight, based on conditions such as weather, aircraft mechanical status, or other hazards. This authority is not subject to being overruled by passengers or executives, nor shall the pilot be disciplined for decisions made concerning the safe operation of the aircraft.
- Acting as the Pilot-In-Command (PIC) with primary responsibility for flight execution in strict compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and the Flight Operations Manual.
- Ensuring the professional competence and control of the assigned crew, upholding Company and government rules and regulations to achieve optimum safety, security, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
- Reporting to the Chief Pilot and being accountable for the safe conduct of all assigned flight operations.
- Performing thorough flight planning duties, including checking weather reports, applicable NOTAMs, and determining fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
- Calculating and verifying aircraft weight and balance before departure.
- Ensuring all flight planning requirements are completed meticulously.
- Verifying that all aircraft crew members possess valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, and visas as required for the planned itinerary.
- Conducting comprehensive aircraft pre-flight inspections prior to each departure.
- Delivering required passenger briefings before the flight.
- Operating the aircraft in strict adherence to operator procedures and aircraft limitations.
- Ensuring compliance with customs, immigration, and security regulations for all international flights.
- Completing all necessary post-flight duties, including reporting any deviations from the planned itinerary or overnight location to the company.
- Accurately recording flight times and documenting any aircraft discrepancies.
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with the Second In Command (SIC), contributing to crew development.
Qualifications and Requirements
Successful candidates will possess a strong aviation background, exceptional judgment, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Commercial Pilot and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) ratings are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and safety procedures.
- Strong customer service skills combined with an unwavering focus on safety and compliance.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods during flight operations.
- Capacity to support an on-call schedule and undertake overnight travel as needed.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of professional aviation experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Aviation obtained through a military or certified program.
- A minimum total flight time of 7,500 hours, including at least 1,000 hours in jet aircraft, with a minimum of one jet type rating required.

Work Environment
The primary work environments include office settings (typically 65°F to 75°F) and hangar facilities, which may involve exposure to temperatures ranging from 28°F to 60°F, consistent with a perishable warehouse environment.
