A prominent and rapidly expanding aviation organization, operating across the UK Midlands and Wales, is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Instructor to join its general aviation training team. The Role: Flight Instructor
The Flight Instructor holds a crucial position, responsible for delivering exceptional flight training and comprehensive ground school instruction to students at various levels of proficiency. This specialist operates core General Aviation aircraft, specifically the Cessna C152, C172, and Piper PA-28 platforms. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) and the wider operations team, playing a central role in shaping the next generation of pilots, enforcing regulatory compliance, and maintaining a robust, proactive safety culture throughout all training activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality flight training on C152, C172, and PA-28 aircraft in strict adherence to the organizational Flying Order Book. Training encompasses:
- UK Private Pilot Licence (PPL(A))
- IMC/Instrument Rating (IR)(R)
- Night Rating
- Guide students through all required flight manoeuvres and competencies necessary for the achievement of relevant aviation ratings.
- Provide engaging and effective ground school instruction to enhance students' theoretical knowledge and prepare them thoroughly for required examinations.
- Rigorously monitor, evaluate, and record student progress, ensuring all training records are accurately maintained and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all flight operations are conducted safely and in full compliance with aviation legislation and internal standard operating procedures.
- Actively champion and promote a pervasive safety culture across the entirety of the flight training environment.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must possess the following mandatory licences, ratings, and professional attributes:
- Must hold a valid Flight Instructor (FI(A)) or Class Rating Instructor (CRI(A)) qualification.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL(A)) or a Private Pilot Licence (PPL(A)) with a minimum of 200 hours total time, including 150 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Must hold a valid Single Engine Piston (SEP) (Land) rating.
- Must hold a valid medical certificate of the appropriate class for instructional duties.
- Demonstrable strong leadership and highly effective instructional skills.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within a team structure under the supervision of the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI).
- Excellent and current knowledge of aviation regulations and operational procedures.
- Exceptional composure and the ability to maintain effectiveness and calmness under pressure.
- Superior interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Proficiency in detailed flight planning and advanced navigation techniques.
