ATR 42/72 Captain Opportunities (EASA/UKCAA) – Dublin & Belfast Bases

Position: ATR 42/72 Captain

The airline is actively recruiting highly skilled and current ATR 42/72 Type-Rated Captains to support its expanding regional operation. Based in either Dublin or Belfast, the positions are offered as 3-year fixed-term contracts (full-time or part-time). Consideration is also given to Non-Type Rated candidates, subject to a three-year training bond.

Contract Structure

  • Contract Type: 3-Year Fixed-Term (Part-Time or Full-Time options available).
  • Operational Focus: Regional route network.
  • Base Locations: Dublin (DUB) and Belfast (BFS).

Minimum Requirements for ATR 42/72 Captains

Candidates must demonstrate proven experience and possess the following mandatory qualifications:

  • Total Flight Time: A minimum of 3,000 hours total flight time is required.
  • PIC Experience (on Type): A minimum of 500 Pilot-In-Command (PIC) hours on the ATR 42/72 600 is required, though hours accrued on the broader ATR 42/72 fleet may be accepted.
  • Licensing: Possess a valid EASA or UKCAA ATPL/CPL license.
  • Current on Type: Candidates must be current on the ATR 42/72 type.
  • Recency: Last flight on type must be within the last 12 months. The last proficiency check (LPC) on the ATR 42/72 is accepted as a flight event.
  • Proficiency: Must hold a valid License Proficiency Check (LPC) on the ATR 42/72.
  • Training: Eligible candidates may be provided with the necessary Delta course, based on existing ATR 42/72 experience.

3-Year Fixed-Term (Contractor) Benefits

The contractor package includes a competitive daily rate, commensurate with experience, enhanced by per diems and additional benefits. Commuting options are available for those on the 3-year full-time contract.

Roster Flexibility

Flexible roster patterns are available and negotiable, including rotations such as 6 days on/8 days off, 20 days on/10 days off, and 12 days on/18 days off.

  • Daily rate compensation.
  • Unlimited standby travel benefits with the operating airline, Aer Lingus, TAP Portugal, British Airways (BA), and Virgin Atlantic.

Permanent Full-Time Positions (If offered)

Permanent roles provide comprehensive financial and lifestyle benefits:

  • Compensation: Basic salary commensurate with experience plus flight allowances.
  • Roster: Fixed 5/3/5/2 roster pattern, facilitating stable long-term planning.
  • Leave: 29 days of annual leave.
  • Retirement: Pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution.
  • Insurance: Life insurance coverage equivalent to two times the annual salary.
  • Staff Travel: Staff travel benefits commence from the date of hire, including unlimited standby travel on the operating airline. Post-probation, access to standby travel extends to TAP Portugal, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Aer Lingus.
