Role Summary

Insitu Pacific, a Boeing company located in Australia, is seeking a skilled RPAS Pilot and Instructor to conduct safe, compliant remotely piloted aircraft systems operations and deliver expert training to personnel and customers. This role involves mission planning, flight execution, and comprehensive instruction in both domestic and international locations.

About the Role

The RPAS Pilot and Instructor will be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) in accordance with all relevant regulations, including CASR Part 101, DASR, 20 REGT SOPs, and Insitu Pacific’s Operations Manual. Key responsibilities include comprehensive pre-flight mission briefing, operational risk assessment, airspace coordination with Air Traffic Control and external stakeholders, and the execution of approved mission flights to collect and deliver sensor data. Post-flight duties encompass the submission of flight reports and mission logs. The role also involves conducting demonstration flights, reporting safety occurrences, performing operator-level functional checks and basic troubleshooting of RPAS and ground support equipment, and maintaining inventory of operational equipment.

Training Responsibilities

In addition to flight operations, the RPAS Pilot and Instructor will be responsible for reviewing and delivering training. This includes reviewing training syllabuses, determining daily instructional needs, identifying and scheduling training resources, and ensuring all training content is compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements. Instruction will be delivered in classroom, practical, flight, and simulation environments. The role requires obtaining real-time student feedback, administering assessments, and completing student records. The incumbent may also develop training curriculum and materials.
