Bighorn Airways, Inc. is actively recruiting a skilled pilot to become an integral part of their expanding team. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse clientele and collaborate with a dedicated group of professionals. The successful candidate will operate a Dornier 228 aircraft, primarily supporting the US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. Responsibilities will also include supplementary cargo flights for FedEx and UPS during peak holiday periods.

This position involves flying within the challenging mountainous regions of the Lower 48 states and Alaska. Pilots will execute low-altitude operations, including smokejumper deployments in remote areas and para-cargo drops. Furthermore, the role includes point-to-point missions under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) conditions. A robust background in low-level flight, ideally with agricultural aviation experience, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, maintain a positive attitude, and possess the ability to collaborate effectively within a team for extended durations.

Minimum qualifications include an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a valid First Class Medical. The candidate should possess a minimum of 3,500 hours total flight time, with 2,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in airplanes, 200 hours PIC in multi-engine land airplanes, 100 hours PIC in turboprop aircraft, 250 hours PIC in large aircraft, and 200 hours in low-level flight.

Preference will be given to candidates with 5,000 hours total flight time and 1,000 hours PIC in multi-engine turbine aircraft.
