Pilot in Command - OCONUS Government Contract
Job Summary
Berry Aviation, Inc. is actively recruiting an experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to lead flight operations under a government contract in Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) environments. The PIC will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of passengers and cargo, providing casualty evacuation, and delivering aerial support to the government client in austere conditions. This role demands meticulous flight planning and execution, ensuring adherence to all regulations and operational directives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assigned flight missions, ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of all flight operations.
- Plan and prepare flight plans, integrating critical data such as weather, altitude, terrain, range, weight, airport facilities, and navigational aids.
- Ensure all flights are released in compliance with FAR Part 135 guidelines, carrying all necessary documentation for legal and safe flight completion.
- Verify the accomplishment of required airworthiness inspections and the resolution or proper deferral of any discrepancies per the aircraft’s Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
- Conduct thorough preflight inspections and risk assessments for each flight operation.
- Adhere strictly to schedules, assigned routes, and load manifests for all completed flights.
- Champion Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles, ensuring all crew members are fully briefed on flight particulars, plan changes, load adjustments, aircraft status, and environmental conditions.
- Maintain regular communication with on-site management regarding flight safety, aircraft maintenance, life support, client concerns, and personnel matters.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid First Class Medical Certificate.
- 1,200 hours of multi-engine turbine flight time.
- 2,000 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) flight time.
- 500 hours of PIC multi-engine flight time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret level security clearance (U.S. citizenship is mandatory).
Preferred:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate category, class, and type ratings for the aircraft operated.
- 3,000 hours of total flight time.
- Demonstrated experience in aerial delivery operations.
- Experience with Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations.
- Current and active U.S. Secret level security clearance.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a FAR Part 135 pilot.
- At least one year of government contracting experience in OCONUS austere environments/locations.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Undergraduate Degree.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Capacity to perform aircraft piloting duties for up to 10 hours per day.
- Willingness to work outdoors and be exposed to a wide range of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather.
