AW139 Helicopter Pilot - Touring (Horn Island)

Babcock Australasia invites expressions of interest from highly qualified and experienced AW139 Helicopter Pilots seeking a full-time touring opportunity to serve a vital purpose within the community. This role offers the chance to join a dedicated and experienced aviation team.

About the Role

As an AW139 Helicopter Pilot, the successful candidate will join the Aviation & Critical Services team, providing essential support to the Queensland Health operation based on Horn Island. Babcock MCS conducts critical medical transport and emergency service operations across Australia. This is a touring position, requiring pilots to operate on a 15-day on, 13-day off roster pattern. While primarily aligned with the Horn Island contract, pilots may be deployed to support operations at other Babcock locations as operational needs dictate.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet specific contract requirements. The following minimum qualifications and experience are essential:

• AW139 type rating with a minimum of 100 hours command on type
• Current CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) (CPL(H)), with an Air Transport Pilot Licence (Helicopter) (ATPL(H)) preferred
• Valid CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
• Current Instrument Rating with a Multi-Engine Helicopter (MEH) endorsement and a minimum of three renewals
• Total helicopter flying time exceeding 2500 hours
• Pilot in Command (PIC) helicopter time exceeding 1500 hours
• Helicopter turbine time exceeding 1200 hours
• PIC night time exceeding 100 hours
• Current Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) rating
• Current Low-Level rating with a winch endorsement

Desirable Qualifications

• B412 type rating with a minimum of 100 hours command on type
