Overview

Babcock International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fitness Instructor to join its team at the Henlow site. The Role

The Fitness Instructor will be at the forefront of health and wellbeing initiatives, delivering essential physical training and reconditioning programmes. This role requires a proactive approach to fostering a culture of fitness and operational readiness. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering comprehensive physical training sessions and tailored reconditioning programmes.
  • Proactively managing and meticulously maintaining sports facilities and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Championing and promoting diverse health and wellbeing initiatives across the station, encouraging active participation.
  • Providing essential support to the Sports Store, ensuring all kit and equipment are meticulously prepared and readily available for use.
  • Rigorously upholding all health, safety, and environmental standards, maintaining a secure and compliant training environment at all times.

This is a full-time position, requiring 37 hours per week, and is based on-site at Henlow.

Candidate Requirements

To excel in this role, the Fitness Instructor candidate should possess a blend of practical experience and essential qualifications:

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience gained within a similar fitness or wellbeing environment, preferably supporting a professional or operational workforce.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging effectively with diverse groups of personnel.
  • A proven ability to cultivate and champion a robust culture of health and wellbeing within an organisational setting.
  • Proficiency in utilising Microsoft Office suite and other relevant digital tools for programme management and communication.

Qualifications

  • A relevant and recognised fitness qualification is essential.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain the required Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
