Pilot – Avenger (King Air B350ER)

Ascent, a leader in military flying training, is seeking a skilled Avenger Pilot to join the team and support the next generation of rear crew professionals. As part of the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS), the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering world-class training in a dynamic, safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute airborne sorties to support rear crew instruction under the UKMFTS programme.
  • Ensure all aircraft operations strictly adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with instructors and engineers to facilitate high-quality training experiences.
  • Act as a professional role model for flight safety and uphold Ascent’s core values.
  • Maintain operational readiness for scheduled and unscheduled flights, adapting to evolving training requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Commercial Pilot’s Licence (minimum 500 hours as 1st pilot) or Qualified Military Multi-Engine Pilot status.
  • Proven medical fitness and a commitment to maintaining flying currency.
  • Strong safety mindset with integrity in decision-making and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills suitable for diverse professional environments.
  • Proficiency in the use of digital tools and systems.

Desirable

  • Green Instrument Rating and Single Pilot operational fitness.
  • Familiarity with the UKMFTS structure and rear crew training syllabi.
  • Understanding of military ethos and training standards.
  • Experience in contributing to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based on a stable Monday to Friday schedule with no weekend flying. Ascent fosters an inclusive, flexible workplace that values diverse perspectives and promotes work-life balance.

Security Clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to obtain and retain Security Check (SC) clearance. Employment is subject to strict security criteria, including residency history and nationality requirements. Applicants must, at a minimum, meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
