Role Summary

This position is an integral part of the Crew Scheduling Team, operating within the Integrated Operations Division. The Crew Scheduler is primarily responsible for the meticulous monitoring of flight attendant monthly activity records and ensuring strict adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures a complete crew complement on every American Airlines flight, diligently meeting the requirements of various contractual working agreements and company service standards.
• Manages the scheduling, rescheduling, and reassignment of flight crews for trips allocated to specific bases.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Prior experience in crew scheduling.
• Knowledge of aviation operations.
• Proficiency with SABRE/DECS systems.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making based on gathered and reviewed information.
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability to constant change within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and union groups.
• Aptitude for reviewing policies and procedures, with the ability to recommend improvements.
• Capacity to review work products of assigned areas and propose changes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Capability to manually perform duties in the event of computer outages.
• Aptitude for memorizing computer entry codes and city codes.
• Understanding of the 24-hour clock and worldwide time zones for effective communication with crew members.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and apply the flight attendant or pilot labor agreements.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Availability to work overtime as required, sometimes with short notice.
