Flight Attendant

Allegiant Air is seeking dedicated and service-oriented individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. This essential role is responsible for ensuring the security, safety, and comfort of all passengers from the pre-boarding process until arrival at their final destination. Flight Attendants serve as frontline representatives of Allegiant Air, contributing to a positive customer experience while adhering to stringent safety and security regulations. This position requires a commitment to operational efficiency, product promotion, and compliance with FAA and TSA guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is mandatory.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of direct customer service experience.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 4 1/2 weeks of training in Las Vegas, which includes shared hotel accommodations with a fellow classmate.
  • Applicant is responsible for relocation expenses to the assigned domicile after training, if required.
  • Ability to react quickly and make sound judgments in various situations.
  • Ability to walk comfortably down an aircraft aisle while facing forward.
  • Capability to rapidly maneuver through aircraft overwing exits.
  • Ability to fit into a jump seat harness without modifications.
  • Capability to quickly and efficiently fasten seatbelts with a sense of urgency.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using a tablet (e.g., iPad).
  • All required forms of identification (e.g., passport, driver's license, and social security card) must have matching names.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential for understanding instructions and communicating effectively with passengers and crew.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous flight attendant experience is advantageous.

Job Duties:

Security:

  • Conduct pre-boarding security checks of the aircraft, customers, and carry-on baggage.
  • Provide support to fellow crew members and leadership.
  • Offer direction and assistance to passengers, adhering to government regulations and company policies.

Safety:

  • Perform pre-flight safety inspections of the cabin area.
  • Ensure passengers are properly seated and that carry-on baggage is stowed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Respond to unusual conditions, including decompression, turbulence, mechanical malfunctions, medical emergencies, and unlawful acts, to maximize the safety of all onboard.
  • Evaluate passengers for signs of intoxication or other potential threats.

Comfort:

  • Serve and sell food, snacks, and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
  • Attend to the special needs of passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, individually and via the intercom, providing relevant travel information.

Administrative:

  • Document and file required reports, such as inventory and trip reports.
  • Complete international paperwork, when required.
  • Upload onboard sales data promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Training:

Initial/Pre-Employment:

  • Successful completion of a minimum 4 1/2 week new hire training program, including at least 5 hours of Initial Operating Experience.
  • Maintain a minimum 90% average on all written and oral exams.
  • Successfully complete all physical requirements of the job, including emergency and evacuation drills.
  • Participation in water emergency training, including entering a swimming pool while wearing a life jacket.
  • Class hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employment offer contingent upon successful completion of the entire training program.
  • Trainees receive a daily per diem, in accordance with the Flight Attendant Collective Bargaining Agreement, to cover miscellaneous expenses.

Recurrent/Ongoing:

  • Active participation in simulated emergency scenarios and the physical operation of aircraft emergency equipment during recurrent emergency training and requalification training.
  • Additional requalification, differences, and transition training will be provided as needed.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate aircraft equipment. The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs. may be required. Flight Attendants may be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour environment, and regular attendance is mandatory. Exposure to environmental conditions such as extreme noise, temperature variations, and light fluctuations may occur. Must be able to work in confined spaces and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods. This role requires travel.

Essential Services Provider:

Hourly Rate:

$29.23 per hour, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
