Korean Language Qualified Flight Attendant
Hawaiian Airlines is seeking a Korean Language Qualified Flight Attendant to join its dedicated ‘ohana.
This individual will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of guests while delivering exceptional customer service infused with Hawaiian hospitality. The Flight Attendant will be responsible for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, attending to passenger needs, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attends preflight briefings to stay informed about weather, routes, emergency procedures, and service details.
- Greets and directs guests, providing flight-related information.
- Assists guests with luggage stowage.
- Demonstrates the use of safety equipment and procedures.
- Monitors passenger compliance with safety regulations and addresses infractions.
- Directs and assists guests during emergency situations, including evacuations.
- Provides consistent food and beverage service.
- Collects payments for onboard purchases.
- Administers first aid when necessary.
- Prepares reports on safety incidents during flight.
- Prepares the aircraft and guests for landing.
- Completes FAA-approved re-certification annually.
- Maintains current knowledge of emergency procedures per Hawaiian and FAA regulations.
- Works alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Interacts effectively and professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Provides prompt and pleasant responses to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Recognizes and escalates potential issues.
- Works in diverse climates and locations, and on variable shifts.
- Flies at high altitudes.
- Meets the physical demands of the job.
- Assists ill or incapacitated passengers and crew members.
- Evacuates the aircraft in heavy smoke during a fire.
- Handles and operates oxygen bottles and fire extinguishers.
- Removes and lifts emergency cabin windows (up to 60 pounds).
- Jumps down the emergency slide from a height of approximately 24.5 feet.
All job duties, including emergency duties, are essential functions of the Flight Attendant position.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Presents a professional image.
- Demonstrates strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Proficient in speaking advanced/business-level Korean and reading Korean characters (Hangul).
- Successfully completes an FAA-approved, unpaid eight-week intensive training program.
- Able to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.
- Able to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to reach 82 inches vertically.
- Ability to sit in a cabin crew jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Ability to complete pre-employment requirements: Drug Test, tuberculosis (TB) and background check.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas for travel to countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Possesses the legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Travel documents must remain valid throughout all phases of training and employment.
- Current employees must be in good standing with the company.
Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and conducts post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry, OR four years of customer contact and customer service issue resolution with the general public in industries such as retail, education, health care, and/or professional services.
- College education or degree.
