This position focuses on creating a high volume of general aviation (GA) content for print and digital platforms, covering news, advocacy, community profiles, flying inspiration, and aircraft showcases.
About the Role
The Aviation Writer will develop engaging and informative content for the organization's magazines and website. Responsibilities include originating story ideas based on organizational priorities and audience interests, conducting research and interviews using journalistic methods, and collaborating with photographers and videographers. The role also involves adapting to changing priorities, problem-solving, and ensuring content accuracy through diligent fact-checking.
Key Responsibilities

Ideate and pitch stories relevant to general aviation news, advocacy, and community interests.

Conduct research, interviews, and observations to gather information on aviation topics.

Coordinate with visual content creators and manage source communication.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.

Minimum of three years of multi-channel media experience.

Possession of a Sport Pilot certificate or higher.
