About the Role

Airbus Americas Customer Services, Inc. is seeking highly qualified Flight Training Instructors (SFI) to join its esteemed team at the Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami, Florida. This dynamic role involves delivering specialized pilot training to airline customers worldwide, with a primary focus on operators within the Americas. The state-of-the-art, 110,000-square-foot facility is equipped with advanced training devices, including multiple full-flight simulators, innovative computer-based training classrooms, and cabin door and slide trainers, meticulously replicating the A320, A330, A340, and A350 XWB aircraft families. This presents an exceptional opportunity for experienced aviation professionals to contribute to the continuous development of pilot proficiency within a leading aerospace organization. Both full-time permanent and temporary part-time positions are currently available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive flight training in adherence to Airbus standard policies and operational requirements.
  • Instruct trainees effectively on various advanced training devices, including full-flight simulators.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of trainee progress and performance.
  • Produce detailed written reports and assessments of trainee performance following each training session.
  • Identify and address the need for supplementary training to ensure trainees achieve desired proficiency levels.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of training documentation and materials.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma required; a Bachelor of Science/Arts degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of operational experience with an airline.
  • Hold or have held an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating and Multi-Engine privileges, specifically on Airbus aircraft.
  • A320, A330, or A350 type rating is highly desirable.
  • Accumulated a minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time.
  • Possess at least 1,500 hours of flight experience in a jet category aircraft.
  • Accumulated a minimum of 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively brief, teach, and debrief trainees in fluent English.
  • Substantial experience as a Simulator Instructor (SFI/TRI) on the A320, A330, or A350 aircraft.
  • Proficiency in preparing and submitting progress reports to airlines and aviation authorities.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under 14 CFR Part 121, Appendices I, III, and J, II.
