Air Methods is seeking an experienced Regional Relief Pilot to serve the Midwest region (KY, OH, IL, IN, MO, KS, AR). The successful candidate will join a high-performing team committed to 24/7 air medical transport and safety. This role includes a $40,000 annual stipend and a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The position requires 50% travel and residency within the specified Midwest region.
The Regional Relief Pilot is responsible for ensuring aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crews and patients safely. This role ensures compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual (GOM) guidelines, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of Air Methods’ policies and procedures.
VFR Program: 2000 total flight hours; 1500 in category; 1000 PIC in category; 500 rotor wing turbine; 200 cross-country (50 at night); 100 unaided night PIC (or 50 unaided/100 NVG); 50 actual/hood instrument in category.
IFR Program: 2500 total flight hours; 2000 in category; 1000 PIC in category; 500 rotor wing turbine; 500 cross-country (100 at night); 75 actual/simulated instrument (50 in-flight, including 20 in actual instrument conditions).
