Air Methods, a leading US air-medical operator, is seeking a highly skilled Fixed Wing Pilot for its Yakima, Washington base. This Captain role involves flying the Pilatus PC-12 under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), ensuring the safe and legal transport of medical crews and patients.

About the Role

The Fixed Wing Pilot will operate under challenging conditions, acting as the final authority for safe air-ambulance operations. Responsibilities include ensuring aircraft airworthiness, assessing weather suitability, and conducting detailed flight planning. This position operates on a 7-day on, 7-day off roster, with 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum 2,500 total flight hours, with at least 2,000 hours in category.
• 1,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in category.
• 500 hours cross-country flight time, including at least 50 hours at night.
• 500 hours turbine time.
• 100 hours night flight time.
• 100 hours flight in actual instrument conditions in category.
• Meeting Airlift Northwest (ALNW) requirements: 2,500 total flight hours in category, 150 hours night flight time, 300 hours flight in actual instrument conditions in category, and 50 hours in make and model (PC-12).
• Instrument rating for the category and class of aircraft (ATP rating in category accepted).
• Commercial single-engine land certificate required for single-engine aircraft like the PC-12.
• First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
• An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus two to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Must weigh no more than 250 pounds and be under 70 years of age.
• Pilots must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
