Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI)
A highly reputable aviation organization seeks a qualified and experienced Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) to join its esteemed Flight Training Department. This is a full-time, permanent position (CDI) categorized as a management-level role within flight operations.
Job Summary
The Synthetic Flight Instructor will be responsible for the design, delivery, and assessment of simulator-based flight training for both internal Air France pilots and external clients (airlines and private individuals). This includes delivering Type Rating (QT) and Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) courses. The SFI will conduct instruction using various Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD), delivering lectures and conferences. Their scope encompasses training for initial jet familiarization, MCC, pre-Type Rating, Type Rating, and the training of other instructors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to pilots and/or instructors using Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD).
- Deliver courses and conferences on jet familiarization, MCC, pre-Type Rating, and Type Rating training.
- Conduct training for instructors.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Possession or prior possession of a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL), or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Minimum of 1500 hours of flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot aircraft.
- Prior experience as an SFI or Type Rating Instructor (TRI) is highly desirable, especially on A220, A320, A350, and A330 aircraft types.
- Proficiency in English, with a minimum level of B1 or a TOEIC score of 550 (valid within the last 18 months; official certification required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate trainees.
- Proficiency in computer applications is considered a valuable asset.
Additional Information
- The position requires non-standard working hours due to pilot training schedules.
- The primary workplace is located at the Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) site.
Selection Process
Candidates meeting the initial criteria will be invited to participate in a selection process that includes:
- A pedagogical evaluation.
- A motivational interview (preceded by a personality inventory).
- A Human Resources interview.
- Potential simulator evaluation for candidates lacking valid qualifications on company fleet aircraft.
