Role Overview

Advanced Air is seeking a professional Second in Command (SIC) Pilot to operate the Pilatus PC-12 aircraft based in Hawthorne, CA. This position supports the company's Essential Air Service communities and on-demand charter operations. The primary objective is to deliver a world-class experience to charter customers, aircraft owners, and airline passengers while upholding the high standards of flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during all flight phases according to operating policies.
  • Perform visual pre-flight and post-flight walk-around inspections.
  • Assume primary responsibility for the safety of passengers, crew, cargo, and aircraft in the event of PIC incapacitation.
  • Manage customer service requirements for each flight leg, including passenger logistics, refueling, customs coordination, and catering.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Operations Manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complete all initial new-hire ground and flight training curricula.
  • Maintain accurate flight and duty records and report maintenance discrepancies.
  • Actively participate in safety and quality systems by identifying and mitigating operational hazards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1,000 hours total flight time; 500 hours PIC; 25 hours multi-engine fixed wing; Commercial Airplane Multi-Engine Land certificate.
  • Flight experience requirements: 500 hours cross-country, 100 hours night, 75 hours instrument (of which 50 must be in actual flight).
  • Preferred: CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates.
  • Must satisfy FAR 135.293(a), 135.293(b), 135.297, and 135.299 proficiency and check requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance procedures.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must hold a current U.S. Passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining.
  • Ability to pass FAA drug/alcohol screenings, background checks, and maintain a current medical certificate.

Physical Demands

  • Must be capable of climbing onto and off of an airplane wing.
  • Ability to manipulate, push, pull, and lift objects in excess of 150 lbs.
  • Digital dexterity for aircraft pre-flight/post-flight tasks.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and perform in extreme temperatures.
  • Capacity to execute flights up to 4.5 hours with a 10-hour flight limit within a 14-hour duty period.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual Salary: $55,000.00.

Work Schedule

Flight crews work a mixed schedule providing 10 days off per month, with approximately 8 to 12 nights spent away from base. Pilots bid for days off based on seniority. Scheduled "On" days include both flying and "On Call" periods, requiring availability within approximately two hours of the airport.

Note: A 12-month training contract is required upon completion of initial training.
