Rotor Wing (H-60) Instructor Pilot - Peru
An experienced Rotor Wing Instructor Pilot is sought to support aircrew training programs in Pucallpa, Peru, with potential for assignments in the United States. This role assists the Standardization Pilot in implementing the organization's Aircrew Training Program (ATP). The Instructor Pilot will conduct rotary wing crew member training and evaluations, and administer the standardization program, including flight records, Air Wing Information System (AWIS), publications, and references. This position monitors flight instruction encompassing aircraft transition training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations. The Pilot plans flight assignments and obtains critical information pertaining to flight purpose, weather conditions, operating procedures, and special instructions. The candidate will prepare or supervise the preparation of flight plans, taking into account altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise data, airport facilities, and navigational aids. This position is located outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Standardization Pilot in administering the standardization program, ensuring adherence to qualification training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations.
- Qualify, train, and evaluate rotary wing rated and non-rated crew members in single and multi-ship missions, including Day, Night, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations, primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).
- Document crew member performance and develop individualized flight training plans supporting the organization’s mission and Aircrew Training Program (ATP).
- Serve as an active member of the INLA Standardization Committee to uphold training standards and compliance.
- Oversee scheduling and management of crew member training, providing safe and effective aviation support for the Department of State OCONUS mission.
- Conduct in-depth academic and flight training and evaluations, ensuring crew member proficiency, standardization, and compliance with INLA standards, directives, manuals, and technical orders.
- Monitor crew member proficiency across all mission planning and flight operation phases to ensure alignment with policies and directives.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of crew member flight records, including entries into the AWIS, and conduct thorough risk assessments.
- Maintain current knowledge of changes and additions to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and essential documentation integral to contract operations.
- Maintain NVG currency and instrument proficiency, performing duties as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, Instructor Pilot, Air Mission Commander, and/or Flight Lead as required.
- Execute additional aviation duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate, or foreign aviation medical certificate equivalent.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Rotorcraft, or foreign aviation license equivalent.
- FAA CFI CFII Certificate or Foreign aviation license equivalent, or documented US military equivalent.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Qualification in UH-60 A-L-M, SH-60 Series, MH-60 series, or HH-60 series.
- 1500 total rotary wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine engine time.
- 200 hours instructor pilot or check pilot time in H-60 series aircraft.
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with 300 hours of NVG experience.
- 250 hours of flight time in category within the past 5 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US MRPT clearance.
- Ability to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS locations, potentially including remote or isolated sites.
- Strong English speaking and written communication skills.
- Host nation language proficiency per contract requirement – LATAM countries, Spanish Level 2 in both Listening and Reading (L2-R2).
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA ATP Certificate.
- 100 hours of flight time in H-60 series aircraft within 24 months.
- Prior experience developing and updating RW Aviation SOPs, Flight Manuals, and Courseware.
- Exposure to military operations.
- Prior support on the DoS INLA program.
OCONUS Requirements:
- Ability to pass physical screening.
- Passport with 18 months remaining.
- LATAM positions require Level 2 Spanish.
