Rotor Wing (H-60) Instructor Pilot - Peru
An aviation organization seeks a qualified Rotor Wing (H-60) Instructor Pilot for a position in Pucallpa, Peru, with potential for assignments in the United States. This role involves assisting the Standardization Pilot in implementing the Aircrew Training Program (ATP). The Instructor Pilot is responsible for conducting rotary wing crew member training and evaluations, as well as administering the standardization program, including flight records, Air Wing Information System (AWIS), publications, and references. He monitors flight instruction, encompassing aircraft transition training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations. The Instructor Pilot plans flight assignments, obtains essential information regarding flight purpose, weather conditions, operating procedures, and special instructions, and prepares or supervises the preparation of flight plans, considering factors such as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise data, airport facilities, and navigational aids. This position is located outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Standardization Pilot in the administration of the standardization program, ensuring adherence to qualification training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations.
- Qualifies, trains, and evaluates rotary wing rated and non-rated crew members in single and multi-ship missions, including Day, Night, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations, primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).
- Documents crew member performance and develops individual flight training plans tailored to support the organization's mission and Aircrew Training Program (ATP).
- Serves as an active member of the INLA Standardization Committee to uphold training standards and compliance.
- Oversees the scheduling and management of crew member training to provide safe and effective aviation support for the Department of State OCONUS mission.
- Conducts in-depth academic, flight training, and evaluations that ensure crew member proficiency, standardization, and compliance with INLA standards, directives, manuals, and technical orders across training and operational activities.
- Monitors crew member proficiency across all mission planning and flight operation phases to ensure alignment with policies and directives.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of crew member flight records, including entries into the AWIS, and conducts thorough risk assessments.
- Maintains current knowledge of changes and additions to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and essential documentation integral to contract operations.
- Maintains NVG currency and instrument proficiency, performing duties as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, Instructor Pilot, Air Mission Commander, and/or Flight Lead as required.
- Executes additional aviation duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate or foreign aviation medical certificate equivalent.
- FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificate Rotorcraft, or foreign aviation license equivalent.
- FAA CFI CFII Certificate or Foreign aviation license equivalent, or documented US military equivalent.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Qualification in UH-60 A-L-M, SH-60 Series, MH-60 series, or HH-60 series.
- 1500 total rotary wing flight hours, including 500 hours of turbine engine time.
- 200 hours instructor pilot or check pilot time in H-60 series aircraft.
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with 300 hours of NVG experience.
- 250 hours flight time, in category, within the past 5 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US MRPT clearance.
- Ability to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites.
- Strong English speaking and written communication skills.
- Host nation language proficiency per contract requirement – LATAM countries, Spanish Level 2 in both Listening and Reading (L2-R2).
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA ATP Certificate.
- 100 hours flight time in H-60 series aircraft within 24 months.
- Prior experience developing and updating RW Aviation SOPs, Flight Manual, Courseware.
- Exposure to military operations.
- Prior support on the DoS INLA program.
OCONUS Requirements:
- Ability to pass physical screening.
- Passport with 18 months remaining.
- LATAM positions require Level 2 Spanish proficiency.
