About the Role
BA Cityflyer is seeking highly experienced and professional Captains to join its dynamic team, operating the Embraer 190 aircraft primarily from London City Airport. This pivotal role involves providing exceptional service to business and leisure customers across a varied network of European and UK destinations.
As a BA Cityflyer Captain, the primary responsibility is to ensure the highest standards of safety and customer service, delivering an exceptional flight experience for passengers travelling into the heart of London. Pilots operate the Embraer 190 (E-Jet) within one of the world's most challenging operating environments, London City Airport, requiring utmost professionalism.
Captains will manage a dynamic seven-day-a-week operation, encompassing business, charter, and leisure flights with varied rosters including day trips, night stops, and tours across Europe and the UK. BA Cityflyer offers significant career development opportunities, including progression to roles such as Line Trainer, Type Rating Instructor (TRI), Type Rating Examiner (TRE), or Pilot Recruiter.
Qualifications

Current UK CAA Part-FCL Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(A)) or demonstrable ability to convert to a UK licence via CAA EASA transfer process (route 5 or 6).

A current aircraft type rating.

Minimum of 4000 total flight hours.

At least 1500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) on a commercial jet or turboprop multi-crew aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 20,000kg or greater. PICUS hours are not included in this count.

ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6.

Valid Multi-Engine (ME) Instrument Rating.

Valid UK CAA Class 1 Medical Certificate, remaining valid for at least six months post-joining date.

Prior experience operating as a Captain is desirable.

An Embraer E-Jet type rating is desirable but not essential.
