Wisk, a leader in the transformation of urban mobility through safe, all-electric, autonomous flight, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Test Pilot to join its Flight Test & Operations team. This is an on-site opportunity located at our Hollister office, where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of mobility.
As Chief Test Pilot, you will lead the flight test team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective execution of the flight test program. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Leading and Developing the Flight Test Team: You will provide guidance and mentorship to a team of pilots, engineers, and mechanics, fostering a culture of excellence within the flight test organization.
- Supporting the Gen 6 Program: You will be accountable for the scope of the test pilot team and its vital support for the Gen 6 aircraft development program.
- Collaborating with Engineering: You will work closely with engineering design teams to understand the aircraft system, contributing to multidisciplinary program reviews throughout development, certification, and production readiness phases.
- Driving Safety and Risk Management: You will be actively involved in the safety risk management process, participating in hazard assessment and risk mitigation. Your commitment to safety and inclusivity will set an example for the entire Wisk culture.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive Flight Testing Experience: 12 years of flight testing experience and a graduate of an SETP recognized Test Pilot School, or equivalent experience.
- FAA Certification: FAA Commercial Pilot or ATP certificate (Fixed or Rotary Wing).
- Aircraft Development Expertise: Proven experience in executing flight testing within aircraft developmental programs.
- Engineering Collaboration: Hands-on experience working within engineering organizations to inform or assess vehicle design.
- Risk Management Proficiency: Deep understanding and applied knowledge of risk management and hazard assessment within operational, experimental, and certification environments.
- Leadership in Flight Test Programs: Successful leadership of teams that have accomplished planning, execution, and reporting of flight test programs for complex aircraft.
- Exceptional Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Compensation and Benefits:
Wisk offers a competitive compensation package of $255,000 - $301,000 per year, commensurate with experience and location. In addition to a rewarding work environment and the opportunity to be a part of a groundbreaking endeavor, we provide comprehensive benefits including:
