Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2000 hours total fixed-wing aircraft flight time.
- Minimum of 250 hours fixed-wing pilot-in-command time.
- Minimum of 500 flight hours under Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) 705, or equivalent experience.
- Valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL).
- Valid Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating.
- Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada (Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or open work permit with pending Permanent Residency application).
- Primary residence in Canada, eligible for provincial health care coverage.
- Unrestricted travel authorization, including all necessary visas or travel documents.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Clear police background check and criminal record check.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test.
- Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) obtained prior to the completion of Initial Ground School.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who exceed the minimum requirements, possessing additional qualifications and experience such as:
- Multi-engine and multi-crew experience.
- Previous experience with WestJet.
- Total flight time exceeding 2000 hours.
- Graduation from a WestJet partnership school.
Equivalent Experience:
Experience considered equivalent to CARs 705 includes, but is not limited to:
- Part 121 or European Airline operations.
- Heavy military transport or multi-engine aircraft experience.
- Large corporate PIC operating under CARs 704.
- High performance multi-engine aircraft PIC operated under CARs 704.
- Multi-engine/multi-crew experience in aircraft over 25,000 lbs.
