Opportunity Overview
Virgin Australia presents an exciting career opportunity for an accomplished professional to join its Perth-based team as the Leader, Crew Culture. This pivotal role is responsible for guiding and nurturing the airline's award-winning Cabin Crew, a team recognized for its outstanding service for seven consecutive years. The Leader, Crew Culture will inspire, support, and develop customer service professionals operating onboard Virgin Australia's aircraft, ensuring every guest's journey is unforgettable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, coach, and develop a team of customer service professionals, fostering a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing environment.
- Drive team and operational performance in alignment with Virgin Australia's values, policies, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), reporting to the Crew Culture Manager.
- Champion the health and wellbeing of Cabin Crew, proactively addressing their needs and supporting their professional development, including return-to-work processes and injury management.
- Inspire and motivate Cabin Crew to deliver memorable customer experiences daily.
- Ensure the team consistently meets operational targets, safety regulations, and performance metrics while maintaining superior service quality.
- Embed and lead a positive people culture aligned with the Virgin Australia Group's strategic vision and purpose.
- Facilitate performance management meetings, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and Fair Work legislation.
- Guarantee team members comply with the Enterprise Agreement (EA), workplace regulations, and company policies.
- Support investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, upholding fair and compliant processes.
- Contribute to day-to-day operations as needed to achieve performance objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Year 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Proven leadership experience in managing large, diverse teams within a fast-paced business environment.
- Previous aviation industry experience, ideally in Cabin Crew or a Crew Leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in leading remote teams.
- Exceptional people leadership capabilities.
- Strong ability to influence and engage business leaders.
- High emotional intelligence, with the capacity to understand behaviours and drive positive outcomes.
- Proven ability to achieve positive customer outcomes through a diverse workforce.
- Comprehensive understanding of working within the scope of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
