Position Summary

The Experimental Test Pilot is responsible for the functional testing, evaluation, and approval of aircraft modifications and new aircraft types. The incumbent ensures high-quality product standards in accordance with engineering, manufacturing, and FAA, TCCA, or EASA certification requirements. This role involves participating in the conception of design changes, preparing development and certification plans, and executing safe, efficient ground and flight testing.

Duties include conducting familiarization flights, customer training, and customer acceptance flights for military and civilian clients. These operations often take place at customer sites, requiring frequent national and international travel. The position requires close collaboration with marketing, engineering, quality control, manufacturing, and product support departments.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience as a test pilot and/or production pilot.
  • Minimum 4,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) helicopter flight time with experience on Bell products, OR graduation from a recognized test pilot school with at least 2,000 hours of helicopter flight time.
  • Valid TCCA CPL/ATPL (H) license with a Group 4 IFR rating.
  • Perfect proficiency in English is required; French language skills are considered an asset.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • FAA CPL/ATPL (H) or instructor ratings are considered assets.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
