Overview
The Boeing Company is seeking highly qualified Military Derivatives Test Pilots to join its dynamic team in Seattle, WA. This pivotal role is within the Military Transport division of Boeing Flight Operations, a group dedicated to developing and flight testing military derivatives of various Boeing commercial aircraft. These aircraft are utilized by both US and international military branches and feature designs ranging from commercially certified supplemental modifications to stringent military-specific requirements. The work often involves cutting-edge military systems, including advanced communications, surveillance, self-defense, aerial refueling, military cargo, airdrop, and weapons delivery capabilities.
This position requires travel, which typically ranges from 5% to 20% depending on specific program needs and activity levels. Boeing is actively hiring for a range of experience levels for this role, including both Experienced and Senior-level professionals.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conducting ground, flight, and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype, new production, and modified production aircraft to rigorously evaluate system functionality, aircraft performance, structural integrity, and support certification processes.
- Contributing to the creation of essential technical reports, flight manuals, and comprehensive flight reports.
- Assisting in the detailed evaluation of flight data, encompassing system performance, aircraft handling characteristics, and the assessment of equipment malfunctions.
- Participating actively in aircraft design discussions and processes, providing valuable recommendations for design changes based on operational considerations and flight test findings.
- Collaborating with teams on marketing, evaluation, and demonstration activities to engage and inform customers effectively.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Possess a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Demonstrate documented military flight test experience.
- Hold a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) transport pilot rating or an equivalent military qualification.
- Possess a current FAA Class II medical certificate or have the proven ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 4: Five or more years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hold an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship is required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active within the past 24 months is considered active.
- Possess a Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements.
- Have military flight experience in aircraft such as the KC-46, KC-135, or KC-10.
- Be a graduate of a recognized Military Test Pilot School.
- Hold prior aerial refueling qualification and/or experience in aerial refueling certification testing.
- Possess type ratings in Boeing commercial model aircraft.
- Be a graduate of the Defense Contract Management Agency’s Government Flight Representative course.

Compensation is determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and broader market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range for Experienced Level (3): $203,000 – $245,000
Summary Pay Range for Senior Level (4): $240,000 – $300,000
