Tiltrotor Experimental Test Pilot
Bell Textron, a leading innovator in aviation, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Tiltrotor Experimental Test Pilot to join our team in shaping the future of flight.
As a Tiltrotor Experimental Test Pilot, you will play a crucial role in the development and evaluation of advanced aircraft systems, pushing the boundaries of aviation technology. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on experimental flight tests, conducting flight operations, maintaining flight currency, and traveling in support of Bell Textron flight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and report on engineering and experimental test flights of new aircraft and/or systems.
- Demonstrate safe, effective, and efficient test planning and execution, applying crew resource management principles with flight crew, telemetry engineers, ATC, chase aircraft, and other relevant personnel.
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the test pilot team and project teams, ensuring a unified effort and the successful accomplishment of test programs.
- Provide expert recommendations on the operational effectiveness of systems, aircraft handling qualities, and design improvements.
- Serve as a consultant to management and as a representative of Bell on major matters and programs.
- Perform additional tasks and acquire varying responsibilities as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved test pilot school.
- Minimum of 1500 hours total time in tilt rotor aircraft and/or helicopters.
- Minimum of 1000 hours as pilot in command.
- Minimum of 100 hours of developmental, engineering, or experimental flight test time.
- At least three years of experience in vertical lift flight test and systems development.
- FAA Class I or II medical certificate.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with design engineers, flight test crews, and maintenance personnel.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of test programs.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 500 hours tiltrotor flight time.
- Experience with US Army aviation.
- CFI/CFII certification.
