Overview

The Bell Training Academy is dedicated to providing world-class aviation expertise and training. As a Tiltrotor Flight Instructor, the incumbent will be instrumental in educating clients on Bell aircraft, covering critical aspects such as aircraft systems, operational planning, and in-flight procedures. Instruction will be delivered utilizing a blend of classroom sessions, advanced training devices, flight simulators, and hands-on flight training across various Bell tiltrotor models.

Role and Responsibilities

This critical position involves serving as a V-22 Tilt Rotor / Power Lift Flight Instructor, specifically to support the Japan Foreign Military Sales Program. The role requires the instructor to be based at MCAS New River, North Carolina, to maintain currency and proficiency with U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) squadrons. Subsequently, instructors will rotate to Japan to provide expert flight instruction to Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) pilots. Instruction will encompass V-22 aircraft systems, strategic planning considerations, and dynamic flight operations, delivered through classroom instruction, simulator training, and practical aircraft instruction.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering comprehensive flight, simulator, and ground instruction to the JGSDF, including contributions to doctrine development.
• Maintaining and enhancing flight currency and proficiency through embedded assignments with USMC V-22 squadrons.
• Adhering strictly to all flight safety protocols, course mandates, and range regulation procedures.
• Ensuring full compliance with all applicable Aviation Authorities and regulations.
• Undertaking domestic and international travel as necessitated by training requirements and global customer support.
• Working flexible shifts, including hours outside the standard 8 AM - 5 PM schedule, to accommodate flight schedules and operational needs.

Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Current and qualified V-22 Pilot status with the following USMC designations:
  • Tilt Rotor Aircraft Commander (TAC)
  • Section Leader
  • Functional Check Pilot (FCP)
  • Basic Instructor Pilot (BIP)
  • Low Altitude Tactics Instructor (LATI)
  • Crew Resource Management Facilitator
• Minimum of 1,000 total flight hours.
• Minimum of 750 V-22 specific flight hours.
• Current NASTP qualification for the V-22.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Current FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate.
