Flight Operations Flight Instructor Internship - 2025
Textron Aviation is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Flight Operations Flight Instructor Intern in Wichita, KS. This internship provides a unique opportunity to inspire the journey of flight in general aviation's most iconic aircraft while developing valuable professional and technical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Embody Textron Aviation's values to contribute to the company's mission and vision.
- Serve as a flight and ground school instructor for club members and interns.
- Conduct classroom instruction on aviation-related subjects.
- Operate company and club aircraft in accordance with all applicable FAA and ICAO regulations and local operating procedures.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of aircraft models, systems, avionics, and equipment.
- Participate in mandatory training programs.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, processing member paperwork, and responding to inquiries from club members.
- Adhere to and support the club's policies, procedures, guidelines, and responsibilities.
- Communicate important issues to club personnel.
- Prioritize safety in all operations.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or a related field, with sophomore status or higher.
- Holds an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating and a Single Engine Land rating.
- Possesses a valid FAA Second Class medical certificate or higher, with the ability to obtain an FAA First Class medical certificate.
- Holds an FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI) and an FAA Flight Instructor Instrument Certificate (CFII).
- Accumulated a minimum of 200 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- Logged 50 hours of PIC time within the previous 12 months.
Experience:
- A minimum of 50 hours of dual given instruction.
- 25 hours of night flight experience.
- 25 hours of Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) flight experience.
- Multi-Engine Land rating.
- FAA Complex and High-performance endorsements.
- Previous classroom experience as a ground instructor.
- Familiarity with digital/glass flight decks.
Additional Information:
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for Textron Aviation at the time of application.
- The internship is a full-time position (40 hours per week) typically running from late-May to early-August, for a duration of 10 weeks.
- Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
