Lead Captain - Silver Air Private Jets

Silver Air Private Jets seeks a highly skilled and experienced Lead Captain to join its team of aviation professionals. Role Overview:

The Lead Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This individual is a pilot who demonstrates a commitment to continuous skill development and fosters positive collaboration with the crew. The Lead Captain must be able to:

Key Responsibilities:

As Lead Captain, the individual will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers, crew members, and the aircraft.
  • Thoroughly reviewing aircraft maintenance status and documentation.
  • Conducting comprehensive pre-flight inspections in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Adhering to all policies and procedures as outlined by Silver Air and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Planning and executing flight operations for private jets, encompassing flight planning, fuel management, and weight and balance calculations.
  • Performing comprehensive checks of weather conditions and facilities along the flight route, including alternate airports.
  • Completing all required trip paperwork accurately and in accordance with established procedures.

Aviation Resource Management (ARM) Responsibilities:

The Lead Captain will also serve as a key Aviation Resource Manager, which involves:

  • Serving as a liaison between the Aircraft Owner and internal Silver Air departments to ensure efficient and compliant aircraft operation.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to all team members assigned to the aircraft.
  • Understanding and adhering to the aircraft's management plan, encompassing owner usage and charter levels.
  • Collaborating with the dedicated Maintenance Manager to coordinate and oversee all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events.
  • Ensuring the aircraft is fully stocked and mission-ready for all owner and charter flights.
  • Partnering with the People and Culture department on all crew-related activities, including crew planning and communication with owners, applicants, and the Chief Pilot.
  • Assisting in the scheduling of flight crews for charters and owner flights and working with Flight Support to establish consistent schedules.
  • Ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of both internal and external resources for the aircraft.
  • Providing training and guidance to personnel on ARM best practices and procedures.
  • Reviewing monthly statements with the dedicated Accounting Manager and Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3500 total flight hours, with 3000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Minimum of 3000 hours multi-engine time, with 2000 hours as PIC.
  • Preferred 1750 total turbine flight hours.
  • Minimum of 200 hours in the aircraft type, with 100 hours as PIC.
  • Type rating on BD700 or comparable aircraft.
  • Valid First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Previous Part 135 experience preferred.
  • Compliance with ICAO Annex I - 2.1.1.0 for international commercial air transport operations with more than one pilot.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to/from Canada as a commercial pilot.
