Chief Flight Instructor Airbus – SAS Scandinavia

SAS Scandinavia invites applications for the position of Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) Airbus within SAS Crew Training. This key leadership role carries overall responsibility for Airbus type-related flight training and functions as a designated authority position within the SAS Approved Training Organisation (ATO).

Role Overview

The Chief Flight Instructor serves as a member of the SAS Crew Training / STOOL Operational Management Team. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that training activities meet rigorous quality and safety standards in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive oversight of all Airbus type-related flight training activities within SAS Scandinavia.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop instructors and training personnel to ensure consistently high standards.
  • Maintain full regulatory compliance, specifically adhering to SAS Scandinavia OM-D 0.7.5, SAS ATO Manual 0.3.1.1, and EASA regulation ORA.ATO.210.
  • Balance strategic objectives with hands-on operational management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive training experience in accordance with EASA ORA.ATO.210, including a minimum of 500 hours of instructional flying on a relevant aircraft type.
  • Must be an active pilot on a SAS-relevant Airbus aircraft type.
  • Professional proficiency in English and at least one Scandinavian language.
  • Competency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
