Job Purpose

This role is directly responsible for ensuring customer comfort and the safe conduct of all assigned flights.

People Accountabilities

The individual will cultivate and maintain a customer-focused culture with robust performance management, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement. They will facilitate regular and effective communication between departments. Furthermore, they will ensure the organization's data protection, security, and retention policies are aligned with best practices and are effectively implemented. The individual will also develop, improve, and implement the organization’s approach to risk management. Maintaining positive, professional relationships with all Royal Jet staff, partners, and members is essential, as is promoting Royal Jet values and ethos at all times.

Operational Accountabilities

This position is accountable for the safe operation of the aircraft and the safety of all occupants and cargo during flight. The individual is responsible for briefing passengers on emergency exit locations and the use of relevant safety equipment. Compliance with all operational procedures and checklists, as outlined in the Operations Manual, is mandatory. They must verify that weather forecasts permit safe flight operations. The individual will determine whether to accept an aircraft with unserviceabilities permitted by the CDL or MEL. They are responsible for ensuring the aircraft and all required equipment are serviceable, including emergency equipment. In the absence of a qualified engineer, they will supervise refueling, paying particular attention to fuel grade, quantity, water checks, fire safety, and secure fuel filter caps. It is crucial to ensure the aircraft's mass and balance are within calculated limits. The individual must verify that flight and cabin crew are properly secured before takeoff and landing. They will ensure passengers are secured and baggage is stowed during taxiing, takeoff, landing, or turbulent conditions. A pre-flight inspection must be carried out. The individual will also verify that all necessary documents and manuals are onboard, valid, and available upon request by authorized personnel. Finally, they will ensure compliance with smoking restrictions and that no smoking occurs in prohibited areas.

Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Familiarity with the Company Operations Manual.
  • An academic background, preferably a Diploma in Aviation or Business Administration, with a University Degree preferred.
  • An FAA/JAA license; a GCAA qualification is preferred.
  • TRI/TRE certification is preferred.
  • A valid type rating on the specific Aircraft Type.
  • A minimum of 5,000 hours of total flying time.
  • At least 2,500 hours in a multi-jet engine aircraft.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours in command on the Type or equivalent as PIC.
  • A history of accident and violation-free flying.
  • Successful completion of a Command Course.
  • Familiarity with relevant UAE and international air legislation.
  • Experience in VIP flight operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional planning, organizing, and integration skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Strong organizational commitment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Education

The candidate should ideally hold a Diploma in Aviation, with a preference for a University Degree.
