Ravn Alaska seeks an experienced and dedicated Dash 8 Direct Entry Captain to join their team in Anchorage, Alaska. Exceptional Flight Operations and Leadership
The Dash 8 Direct Entry Captain is entrusted with the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the Captain will demonstrate exceptional leadership and crew resource management skills, fostering a strong safety culture while ensuring the well-being of all crew members, passengers, and cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety by adhering to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections and ensure the aircraft's airworthiness throughout all phases of flight.
- Foster a collaborative and communicative cockpit environment, promoting effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to teamwork by assisting with ground operations, including fueling, baggage handling, and de-icing.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for all passengers.
- Maintain meticulous flight documentation and adhere to all reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in Safety Management Systems (SMS) initiatives, demonstrating a proactive approach to risk assessment and mitigation.
Qualifications for Success:
The ideal candidate possesses a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership qualities, and a deep commitment to safety.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with current ratings required for Part 121 operations.
- 2,500 hours total fixed-wing flight time, including 1,000 hours multi-engine turbine and 1,000 hours of air carrier experience as defined by FAR 121.436.
- Valid First-Class Medical certificate and the ability to provide a recent Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC).
- Clean FAA record with no Certificate or Administrative Actions within the past 24 months.
- Valid passport and the ability to travel internationally, including to Canada.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 65 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, motor vehicle record check, and pre-employment DOT drug screen.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
