Flight Attendant – Wagga Wagga

Regional Express (Rex) is Australia’s largest independent regional airline, operating a fleet of Saab 340 aircraft across 49 destinations. Rex is currently seeking dedicated, self-reliant individuals to join the team as full-time solo Flight Attendants based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.

Role Overview

As a solo Flight Attendant, you will be responsible for managing the entire cabin independently, ensuring passenger safety, comfort, and compliance with aviation regulations. This role provides the opportunity to deliver personalized, award-winning service while traveling to diverse regional destinations. The position offers a competitive remuneration package and a balance of work and lifestyle; however, candidates must be prepared for a roster that includes weekends, public holidays, shift work (early starts and late finishes), and overnight stays away from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the cabin environment independently.
  • Conducting equipment and security checks.
  • Performing in-flight announcements and providing food and beverage service.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and cabin cleanliness.
  • Handling various in-flight situations and passenger requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Height restriction: Must be no taller than 173 cm.
  • Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate obtained within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), contingent upon a successful police security check.
  • Proficiency in English, demonstrated by:
    • Completion of at least 3 years of secondary education in Australia or New Zealand; OR
    • Employment in Australia or New Zealand for at least 3 of the last 5 years; OR
    • Employment in the UK, Ireland, or USA for at least 3 of the last 5 years; OR
    • An overall score of 5.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
  • Capability to swim fully clothed without aid or floating devices (a practical swim assessment is required).
  • A high level of personal presentation and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding varied working hours, including peak periods and holiday seasons.
