REX | Flight Attendant

Regional Express (Rex) Airlines, Australia's largest independent regional airline, is seeking dedicated full-time Solo Flight Attendants for its base in Cairns. Operating a fleet of Saab 340 aircraft and serving 49 destinations, Rex is renowned for its award-winning, warm, and genuine inflight service, distinguishing itself in the competitive aviation market.

About the Role

This position involves managing the entire aircraft cabin independently, ensuring passenger safety and comfort. The Solo Flight Attendant will be responsible for all in-flight duties, including equipment and security checks, passenger announcements, food and beverage service, and handling various cabin situations. The role offers a dynamic work environment with varied hours, including weekends, public holidays, early starts, late finishes, and occasional nights away from base. Extensive training will be provided, and flying experience is not required.

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age or over.
• Hold Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency.
• Be no taller than 173 cm.
• Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
• Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate completed within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrate one of the following:
  • Completed a minimum of 3 years of secondary education in Australia or New Zealand.
  • Worked in Australia or New Zealand for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
  • Worked in the UK, Ireland, or USA for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
  • Completed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall grade of 5.5.
• Be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which involves a police security check.
• Be passionate about the role and committed to delivering exceptional and consistent customer service.
• Be able to swim fully clothed without aid or a floating device (a swim assessment is required).
• Be flexible and adaptable, with availability to work varied hours, including holiday periods and peak times.
• Maintain a high level of personal presentation.
• Possess a natural willingness to please and care for people.

Qualifications

• A current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) is mandatory.
• A Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate completed within the last 3 years is mandatory.
