Essential Professional Experience and Licensing
The candidate must possess the requisite experience and certifications necessary to perform complex flight operations and instructional duties. Specific essential requirements include:
- Licence Requirements: A valid UK CAA Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL), Multi-Engine (ME) rating, and Instrument Rating (IR) are mandatory.
- Medical Standard: Must hold a current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP): A minimum ICAO ELP level of 4 is required.
- Flight Test Experience: Candidates must have successfully completed at least 200 hours of Category 1 or Category 2 flight tests. This calculation may include accredited flight test training hours.
- Operational Background: The Test Pilot must have completed a minimum of one full tour (equating to at least two years) within a recognized flight test department, squadron, or unit, demonstrating active engagement in a diverse range of significant aviation projects.
