Position Summary:
The Aircraft Maintenance Training Instructor is responsible for providing practical training to AMTs. This includes instruction on aircraft systems and procedures, maintenance documentation, test equipment, repair processes, run/taxi operations, and other relevant subjects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical training in formal classroom settings and on the production floor.
- Conduct recurrent, informal, test equipment, and on-the-job training for company and vendor personnel.
- Research, develop, implement, and revise training curriculum.
- Conduct aircraft engine run and taxi training/testing using live aircraft, flight simulators, or Virtual Flight Deck (VFD).
- Assist with the maintenance, upkeep, security, and auditing of training records.
- Conduct outstation and vendor operation training as needed.
- Ensure proper completion and submission of training documentation.
- Manage course completion and student records within the company's LMS platform.
- Promote sound operational judgment and a safety-oriented attitude.
- Train AMTs by assisting with troubleshooting and other aircraft maintenance tasks.
- Uphold the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification
- Minimum of one year experience working on PSA’s aircraft fleet type
- In good company standing (STEP 1 violations considered)
- Completion of PSA Indoctrination training and General Familiarization (training qualifications accepted)
- Proficiency in using applicable manuals (GMM, AMM, FIM, Wiring diagrams, etc.)
- Strong ability to utilize MS Office Suite and maintenance software
- Run Taxi/Qualified (within 120 days) AMA if applicable
- Ability to troubleshoot complex aircraft systems and instruct others
- Proficiency in delivering on-the-job training, presentations, and reports
- Ability to travel as required
- Ability to work different shifts as required
- Good working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations
- Thorough knowledge of PSA Manuals
- Airworthiness Release Qualified (within 120 days)
- Strong communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment
- Working knowledge of test equipment, specialized tools, and machinery
- Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting the position
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Additional Information:
- Delegation: In the absence of the instructor, responsibilities are delegated to the Manager of Maintenance.
- Authorities: None.
- Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position.
- Work Environment: This role operates in a professional office and aircraft maintenance environment, using standard office and maintenance equipment.
- Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 25 lbs, and use hands for handling and reaching.
