Pilot in Command - G600 - Detroit, MI
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and subsidiary of NetJets, seeks a qualified Pilot in Command for a G600 aircraft based at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) in Detroit, Michigan. EJM has been a leader in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, providing unrivaled resources and operational stability within the world’s largest private aviation infrastructure. This position involves flying approximately 300 hours annually, both domestically and internationally, under Part 91 regulations. The assigned account operates three corporate jets supported by two full-time Maintenance Technicians, two full-time Flight Attendants, and seven Pilots. This is not a commutable position; the successful candidate must reside within driving distance of DTW airport.
The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated safely, compliantly, and efficiently. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while providing an exceptional service experience.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Verifies crewing and trip assignments comply with all company and regulatory mandates.
- Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Employs Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including assessing the aircraft's maintenance status, to ensure mission capability. Records all aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Monitors and manages all aircraft ground servicing (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducts passenger briefings per company policy and regulations, delivering exceptional customer service and addressing any special passenger needs.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate effectively with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Proactively investigates and resolves service deviations.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to deliver a consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflicts and challenges effectively.
Maintains Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
Years of Experience:
4-6 years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet is desired.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
- Preference for local candidates with Gulfstream or similar size aircraft experience.
- International experience preferred.
