Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, invites applications from qualified candidates for a Pilot In Command position operating an Embraer Praetor 600 aircraft. This role is based in Wilmington, DE (KILG). The operation utilizes a three-pilot crew structure, anticipating approximately 450 flight hours annually, encompassing both domestic and international missions under Part 91 and Part 135 regulations.
This presents an exceptional opportunity to elevate an aviation career as part of a professional team operating a state-of-the-art, brand-new Embraer Praetor 600, equipped with the latest advancements in aviation technology. EJM seeks crew members who reside within a two-hour driving distance of KILG. International flight experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates who hold a current Embraer Praetor 600 type rating. This is not a commutable position; however, relocation assistance is available.
As the Pilot In Command, the incumbent holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This includes ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory and company policies while consistently delivering a first-class service experience to every passenger onboard.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Verifies crewing and trip assignments comply with all company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes all necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizes the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct required briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight inspections, including reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status, to ensure it is mission capable. Documents all aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and completed in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducts passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations. Delivers the highest level of customer service and accommodates any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
- Applies Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to communicate clearly and in a timely manner with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to aircraft owners and passengers while actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to provide a consistent service experience for owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges professionally.
Maintains Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains all required regulatory and company training and ensures recency of experience.
- Complies with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
