POSITION OVERVIEW

This Captain will assist the Chief Pilot with discharging safety responsibilities and being prepared to assume the duties of the pilot in command. This position is also responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned. The incumbent must ensure compliance with all Federal, state, local and foreign regulations, as well as the policies and procedures specified in the company operations manual. This position is the company’s most visible representative to the passengers and must act with tact and decorum while ensuring an efficient and safe operation. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as second in command (SIC) of flights for which the pilot is scheduled
  • Providing excellent customer service to passengers.
  • Complying with schedules, and other directives governing the aircraft’s operation.
  • Ensuring that pre-flight inspections are performed
  • Assisting the chief pilot with discharging safety responsibilities
  • Ensuring the aircraft is clean & prepared for flight with all provisions on board for safety and comfort of the passengers.
  • Reviewing and calculating the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts. Coordinating the functioning of all crewmembers assigned to the flight
  • Making decisions necessary to start, delay or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate. Being familiar with and following all FARs and company policies pertinent to assigned duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education GED required
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate / FAA Air Transport Pilot Certificate / FCC Restricted Radio/Telephone permit. Must have a current passport and international experience.
  • A total of 2,500 hours of total flight time with 250 hours in the past 12 months; including 1,000 hours of multi-engine, 100 hours of recent multi-engine turbine or type rating, and 250 hours of instrument. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including early mornings, nights, weekend travel required. Requires in depth functional knowledge of area.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact with and provide superior customer service to all levels. Frequently interacts with Executives (CEO, CFO, etc.…) and internal and external parties (Board of Directors).
  • Interpersonal -Providing excellent customer service to passengers. Technical - Familiar with all FARs and company policies pertinent to assigned duties. Interpersonal - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • AA degree in Aviation Management
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certified preferred
